Experienced project manager for international organisation in Palestine

An international development consultancy wishes to recruit an experienced and dynamic project manager to assist in the work of its donor-funded project, the Negotiations Support Unit, in Ramallah. The NSU's mandate is to provide expert legal, policy and communications advice to the Negotiations Affairs Department and related Palestinian institutions on a range of issues related to permanent status negotiations and the development of a Palestinian state.

Applicants must have a minimum of eight years experience managing large politically sensitive development projects funded by international donors, a masters degree in a relevant academic discipline, significant experience working in the Middle East and of managing teams of advisers, and fluency in written and spoken English. Fluency in Arabic will be seen as a significant asset.

Contract will be for one year with intent to extend depending on performance.

If you are interested in applying for this position, please send a CV to PalestineRecruitment@AdamSmithInternational.com. We will then contact all suitable candidates for interviews. All applications should be received by January 19, 2009, although recruitment may continue thereafter on a rolling basis.
