Call for nominations to the Conflict Management (CM) Division Doctoral Consortium
The CM Doctoral consortium includes a Friday evening social (August 8th) and an all day session Saturday (August 9th) at the 2008 Academy of Management meetings in Anaheim, CA. All candidates MUST be nominated by a faculty member. It will NOT be possible to allow any “walk-ins” at the consortium. There is no fee.
Our goal is to help PhD students pursue research programs that will contribute to the field and lead to tenure as they build academic careers. The format includes presentations by successful CM scholars then one-on-one interactions and small group discussion. Consortium participants will discuss useful strategies to enhance research productivity and professional advancement. Participating faculty include Bruce Barry (Vanderbilt U), Graham Brown (Singapore Management U), Don Conlon (Michigan State U), Peter Kim (University of Southern California), Deepak Malhotra (Harvard U), Randall Peterson (London Business School), and Linda Putnam (University of California, Santa Barbara).
Please note attendance requirements: Any doctoral student may attend who is a member of the Conflict Management Division or is specializing in topics within the domain statement of CM. They must not have attended a previous CM doctoral consortium. Students should have finished approximately two years of their PhD program. They do not need to have completed their dissertation proposal--only to have chosen a specialization area.
Students accepted for the consortium will provide a brief statement explaining their research interests to allow for proper matching with faculty.
Nominations by faculty should be completed by June 30, 2008.
Contact CM Doctoral Consortium organizer and PDW Chair Deanna Geddes, (geddes@temple.edu) for nominations and information.
