Full time Tenure Track Position (Assistant Professor)

The Department of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior (HRM&OB) of the Faculty of Management and Organization of the University of Groningen is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track faculty member (rank assistant professor) in the area of HRM&OB.

Our Department
The HRM&OB department contributes to several programs at the Bachelors and Master level, to the Research Master and to the PhD training program of the research school SOM. The department manages two one-year Master in Science programs; one is the MSc-HRM, the other is the MScBA/Change Management. The department includes 10 tenured faculty, 2 visiting professors and 10 PhD students with a wide variety of interests and backgrounds, and embraces a broad range of research approaches with a keen focus on quality scholarship (see:
http://www.rug.nl/bdk/faculteit/basiseenheden/humanresourcemanagement/staff ). Our research projects focus on cooperation within dyads, teams, networks and other organizational levels. In our research we consider different input, process and outcome characteristics. Input characteristics include task interdependence and autonomy, expertise, personality, leadership, power, team composition, flexibility and diversity . Processes cover, amongst others, cooperation, conflicts, learning, feedback and innovative behavior and outcomes refer to, for example, performance, commitment and employee satisfaction. We use a large variety of research methods and deal with applied as well as fundamental research questions.

Tasks

  • Conducting empirical research on topics or themes fitting the research topics of the department of HRM&OB (see website pages ‘Research’ and ‘Main publications’).
  • Contributing to the acquisition of external funding of research projects
  • (Co)supervising PhD students
  • Teaching courses in the faculty’s bachelor and master programs
  • Participating in committees at the university and faculty levels.


Requirements

  • Being  enthusiastic and ambitious with an educational background in HRM, OB, Social Science or Business Administration.
  • PhD in HRM&OB or a related area
  • High-quality publications in international, peer-reviewed academic journals
  • Teaching skill and teaching experience
