Posted: 29 Jan 2005

For full details, please go to http://www.natcom.org/Convention/
Division Program Chair: Jessica Katz Jameson: jameson@ncsu.edu
Deadline: February 16, 2005
ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE SENT ELECTRONICALLY USING THE ALL ACADEMIC SYSTEM, DO NOT SEND PAPERS VIA MAIL.
Maximum length: 20 pages; Include 50-75 Word Abstract
Format: Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, PDF, or RTF

The Peace and Conflict Communication Division invites papers, panel proposals, roundtables, interactive discussion sessions, and other programs exploring conflict management and peace communication. We welcome proposals that discuss theory, research, and/or practice related to conflict management and peace communication in areas such as (but not limited to) negotiation, mediation, dispute system design, peace and conflict instruction, peace communication, and peace and conflict communication criticism.

Special consideration will be given to programs and papers that reflect the interdisciplinary nature of peace and conflict communication in contexts such as interpersonal and intergroup relationships, organizations, communities, and nations. Submitters should indicate their willingness to have their work scheduled as a poster session and must indicate any audio-visual equipment needed only if absolutely central to your presentation (e.g., use of video or electronic media).

Competitive paper submissions should include a title and a 50-75 word abstract. Please indicate on title page whether this is a debut and/or student paper. To ensure blind review, all names should be removed from the paper before it is uploaded.

Panel and roundtable submissions should be approximately 1-2 pages in length and must include enough descriptive information about the substance of the panel and qualifications of panelists for reviewers to evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of the submission. Panel submissions should include a chair (mandatory) and a respondent (if applicable).

In order to allow for maximum conference participation, NCA planners have asked that individuals only submit one competitive paper as first author. Thank you for your cooperation.
