NCMR's Mission
Negotiation and Conflict Management Research is the official publication of the International Association for Conflict Management (IACM). It is an international social science publication that focuses on theory and research on conflict and conflict management across levels, including organizational conflict, interpersonal conflict and inter-group conflict, and across a range of domains including environmental conflict, crisis negotiations, political conflict and cross-cultural conflict, as well as formal and informal third party intervention, including mediation and arbitration. The journal publishes research that advances theory, uses quantitative and/or qualitative methods, and makes links between theory and practice. We welcome original research and theoretical contributions that cross social science disciplines.
All manuscripts published in NCMR must make strong contributions to the literature. In order to be accepted for publication, manuscripts should meet three criteria: (1) they must address a domain related to our mission; (2) they should advance our understanding in significant ways; (3) they should make a contribution theoretically, and where appropriate, empirically as well; and (4) they should be relevant to practice by identifying a compelling issue related to our mission that has either direct or indirect practical relevance. A value added contribution is crucial to acceptance for publication.
